Everything's Coming Up.... Seacrest?

GIF from ImageFlip.
In my wildest dreams, I would not have picked the overly obvious choice of Ryan Seacrest for my Live with Kelly! fantasy draft. But I'm also not the one hosting a live morning show. I did attend The Rachel Ray Show this Winter, so I have a slight bit of talk show audience street cred. I generally am not a fan of the 'Crest. He is just over-saturated and overconfident.  At one point in his career (recently), he was hosting American Idol, weekly and daily radio programs, and the majority of the E! reality programming slate. How does he keep up with the rapidly procreating Kardashians? This is Steve Harvey level of too many hands in the entertainment cookie jar. Something about him also reminds me of a dentist because of his overly perfect teeth. I think the teeth is what takes me into these 'meh' feelings. If I could replace him with any host options, I would choose Joel McHale (sworn Seacrest mocker), who is in danger of losing his current gig, known as CBS's The Great Indoors.

My Fantasy Draft:
1. Fred Savage
      - See blog post here. I wanted him to get a win since The Grinder got cancelled.
2. Neil Patrick Harris
-(Emmys, Tonys, etc... is there anything the man can't do?  He was born to host things and he looks good in a suit.
3. Mark Consuelos     - As Ripa's husband, he does banter night and day, but would the couple run out of things to chat about?

Fallon Goes to Hollywood

This week, Jimmy Fallon and The Tonight Show broadcasted from Los Angeles. Some may forget, Jay Leno hosted the same Tonight Show from L.A. for years, and Johnny Carson before him did the same in his later seasons. Conan even tried it for a brief time (Too soon, I don't think I'm over the way NBC gave Conan the shove yet). How is an L.A. show different from an NYC show? for one thing, all of the celebrities are at your beck and call and live right nearby. Here's the banner week of guests and performances. I felt like I needed a vacation just from keeping up with the episodes (and maybe from laughing a bit too much) For more info, visit the Tonight Show website.

A Note About the D-List

I am wholeheartedly enjoying the season premiere of Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D List. I now know its officially summer and I'll have something to keep me entertained all summer.

Tonight Kathy is filming a guest appearance on Law and Order. Kathy has received diva lessons from Liza Minnelli, awoken at the "ass crack of dawn", met with Ice-T (A nice man and a cool drink)and Mariska Hargitay, and tried to kiss Chris Meloni aggressively.

I was about to burst into tears of laughter when Kathy said, "I started to cry and I had to tell Mariska I was breaking up with my boyfriend." And then she asked if they could get Cynthia Nixon to take over her part. Classic Kathy.

Now Kathy is reading to Mariska from her book about a trust gone bad in an acting class. Mariska has agreed to fall again and let Kathy catch her.

The more I watch this show, the more I wish I could be friends with Kathy. From her big star on the not-Holllywood Walk of fame, to befriending Paris and Paula Deen, I loved Kathy last summer.

I can't wait to see what will happen in the upcoming "An Uncomfortable Lunch with Ryan Seacrest" episode.
