A Note About Musical Revelations

So I just finished listening to Bon Jovi's 200 hit "It's My Life" for about the hundreth or so time, and I realized something amazing. It's not an oiriginal relvelation, but I noticed John sings about characters from a past song.

In the second verse he sings:

This is for ones who stood their ground,
For Tommy and Gina, who never backed down.

This is indeed the same Tommy and Gina referenced in "Livin' on a Prayer"

"Tommy used to work on the docks.... Gina works the diner all day....."

This makes me love both songs more. If that was ever possible.

The message of It's my life is still resonating, almost ten years later. That's power. That's rock and roll.
